My first professional assignment was for Gannett News Service at the 1987 Pan American Games in Indianapolis. It was an intimidating task for a young photographer. Thus began a journey spanning continents, major events, formative experiences and memorable people.

My analog and digital work has appeared worldwide in newspapers, magazines, wire services, broadcast and new media. As a photographer and filmmaker, my projects have been critically acclaimed by The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, TV Guide, Boston Globe, Detroit Free Press and others.

Iconic brands have trusted my visual creativity and storytelling, including Reebok, CCM Hockey, REI, Hilton Hotels, Subaru of America, U.S. Army World Class Athlete Program, Dynastar, Lange, Roxy, Rossignol, Volkl, Bauer Hockey, AIT Worldwide, NCAA, NHL, USA Hockey, University of Minnesota, Colorado College, Boston College, Boston University, USHL, Kennecott, United States Tennis Association, U.S. Bobsled & Skeleton, U.S. Ski Team, U.S. Speedskating, Ski Racing Magazine, NBCOlympics.com, Yahoo!, United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee and many more.

As a writer and journalist, I started with my hometown weekly and daily when I was fourteen. Since then, I've written for newspapers, magazines and blogs, as well as the lead writer on television scripts, documentaries, features, commercials and web series.

Visually, I'm a purist. I learned on film, which meant you didn't see the results until the darkroom. I have embraced digital, and love its practicalities, conveniences and technological advances. However, my photography worlds indeed collide: I shoot with the latest Sony mirrorless cameras but also still work with film, via a 1965 Leicaflex Standard.

It may be old school, but I like my music that way, too. Thanks for stopping by!
